Heucherella (Heuchera x Tiarella) ‘Solar Eclipse’® – foamy bells

APPEARANCE :Dense, mounding herbaceous perennial with heavily scalloped maroon leaves edged in lime green or golden-green depending on the season. Long slender stems of tiny white flowers spring-summer. This variety is more heat tolerant than others. Heucherella is a hybrid of Heuchera and Tiarella. Heuchera gives foliage colour, Tiarella has fancier leaf shapes and markings, plus larger flowers. Heucherella are sterile and will not self-seed.
USE IN: Garden beds and borders, cottage and informal gardens, underplanting.
LOCATION: Plant in dappled or part shade in moist but well-drained light soil. Plant heucherellas slightly proud of the soil, so the centre of the plant is raised above the soil level. Totally frost-hardy. Will need regular watering when planted in full sun or warmer gardens during summer to keep those leaves lush.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks, and again each spring. Cut back any dead or untidy foliage in spring to make room for new growth, and give it fresh mulch.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 25 – 40 cm H x 30 – 45 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tube-stock plants, young healthy plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide. May be supplied as ‘plugs’, slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
