Correa reflexa hybrid ‘Dusky Bells’

DESCRIPTION: Native dense low-growing shrub, with small dark leaves and abundant small sandy-pink bell flowers through the colder months. Larger leaves and a more compact habit than the similar-coloured Jezabell.
USES:  Native and wildlife gardens especially to attract honeyeaters, informal hedges. Shrubberies and mixed beds.
PLANTING: Plant in part shade or dappled shade, sheltered from strong winds. Unlike some natives, correas are happy in alkaline soils. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes. Tolerates light frost and some dry spells once established; not too happy in very humid climates.
CARE: A light prune once flowering has finished will help give the plant shape and keep it dense. Follow with an application of a native slow release fertiliser.
